Beat and Rhythm

WALT:
Write and clap rhythms

CRITERIA:
·      To write and clap a rhythm
·      To use semi quavers, crotchets or rests in our rhythm

·      To write a rhythm that is equal to four counts

These are some of the things I think a good reader does:

  • They re-read to fix up mistakes
  • They read fluently
  • They read the words that are there and don't add in extra words
  • They think about what they have read so they understand it

Term 4 - Discovery

Discovery time is an opportunity for your child to choose from a range of activities some of which are not offered during the normal course of the day.  Your child is encouraged to try different things.  The Key Competencies: Thinking, Relating to Others, Understanding texts and symbols, Managing Self and Participating and Contributing are embedded through Discovery time, as are the School Values.




Term 4 - Published Writing

WALT:
Publish our writing

Criteria:
·      Re-read our draft so that it makes sense
·      Go back and fix up mistakes
·      Copy our draft work correctly
·      Use our neatest hand writing

Gymnastics



Gymnastics:

We are learning a range of balancing, rolling, jumping and travelling movements to incorporate into a floor routine.

Criteria:




  • To incorporate at least two balancing movements
  • To incorporate at least one jumping movement
  • To incorporate at least one rolling movement

  • Introduce ourselves in Te Reo Maori
  • Communicate personal information, such as our name, parents' and grandparents' names and home town in Te Reo Maori
